It all started through a common interest…we just wanted to give back and uplift our community
The M.O.V.E Book Award was created by Nicole Watson & John Turner, both alumnus of Hamden High School & Hampton University. John and Nicole have been friends since the young age of 5, and realized they both share the same common interest to uplift the youth. As products of Hampton University, they would like to encourage minority students at Hamden High School to attend a Historically Black College or University (H.B.C.U.) and gain the same life changing experiences as they have. Therefore, they would like to provide financial support and mentorship that aide in providing internships, networking, and essential life skills outside of the classroom.
